What Sparked your Fire?

What Sparked your Fire?

We've all been there. At some point, we were impressionable little kids. Anytime we saw something or someone doing something we though was cool, we wanted to do it. Whether is was cars, monster trucks, hunting, or fishing, we have all been that little kid. For me I can remember growing up and not being as much into fishing as Erik was. I thought it was boring, and I would much rather go hiking with my dad than go stand on the bank and catch bluegill. It's funny how things change. One trip down to our lot, Erik invited his friend Robby. I can remember watching Robby and listening to him talk about bass fishing. At the time I had little knowledge about bass fishing. All I knew was putting on a bobber and a hook with a worm to catch bluegill. I was fascinated by Robby and what he knew. Him and Erik started fishing together more often. I can remember one time I got to to tag along, and afterwards, I found out Robby thought I was annoying. Makes me laugh looking back on it now considering the three of us are all still really good friends, and we fish together often.

If Robby hadn't gone fishing with us that trip, I don't know if I would have every been into fishing as much as I am now. This company probably wouldn't exist, and I wouldn't be here writing this. It is funny how things change. One moment or one day can change your entire life, and you may not even realize it at the time.

We all have a moment similar to this. Maybe it was the first time we tried something new. A new sport, a different hobby, hung out with different people, it could be a lot of things. All these moments seem to line up perfectly when they happen. What I want to know is, what was that moment for you? Who was the person that got you into fishing? What happened that made it so special? These moments only get to happen a couple times in our lifetime. I'm going to issue a challenge to you. Tell that person thank you and what they mean to you. Let them know it matters to you. Also, go out and try new things. You never know when that next new thing or person is gonna be right around the corner. As always, Love the Adventure and we will catch you next week.
